Awareness programme on Mission Shakti held in Chandel

An awareness-cum-training programme on Mission Shakti was jointly organised by Chandel district administration and Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Cell, Chandel at the Mini Secretariat Complex on Monday.
Presided over by Chandel DC Laishram Nandakumar, the function had ICDS Cell Chandel district programme officer Ahanthem Neemi delivering a detailed presentation on the Mission Shakti scheme.
She also gave a power point presentation outlining the components of the scheme and various activities undertaken by NGOs and other organisations in connection with it.
Mission Shakti is an initiative of the government of India aimed at ensuring the safety, security and empowerment of women.
The scheme offers a comprehensive range of services and information to women and girls, addressing their needs across different stages of life.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Nandakumar pointed out that the awareness programme was conducted with the objective of informing the public about various welfare schemes launched by the government and the facilities available under them.
The event was attended by staff members of One Stop Centre and Shakti Sadan Home, representatives of Chandel Network of Positive People, women tribe leaders, members of Maha Area Chiefs' Association, community leaders, field functionaries, and various NGOs.
During the programme, Hmancila Khalter, counsellor at the One Stop Centre, Chandel, highlighted the role and objectives of the centre, while Joyvita Martina Chara, superintendent of Shakti Sadan Home, spoke about the services and support provided by the Home under the Mission Shakti scheme.
