Kakching, May 20 2025: With the objective of enhancing disaster preparedness and improving inter-agency coordination during emergencies, a district-level mock drill - as part of Operation Abhyaas was conducted at Maha Union Government Higher Secondary School, Japhou in Chandel district on Tuesday.

The mock drill was conducted in collaboration with various stakeholders including the educational institutions (NCC and NSS of United College, Lambung, and NCC of Maha Union Government Higher Secondary School.

The exercise simulated emergency scenarios including the sounding of air raid sirens, enforcement of blackout protocols, and responses to mock air raids and bomb threats.

Vital installations were camouflaged as part of precautionary measures.

The simulation also covered managing fire outbreaks, conducting search and rescue operations, evacuating casualties, and setting up a temporary hospital for the injured.

As part of the drill, demonstrations were given on air raid response techniques, blackout drills, and evacuation procedures.

A stun bomb demonstration was also conducted at the venue.
