Senapati DC chairs coordination meet on Civil Defence mock drill "Operation Abhyaas"

The Deputy Commissioner of Senapati, Mamoni Doley, IAS today chaired coordination meeting on Civil Defence Mock Drill - "Operation Abhyaas" as part of nationwide exercise under the Civil Defence Rules, 1968 at DC Conference Hall, Senapati.
The meeting was attended by Dharmendra Kumar Tyagi, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Senapati, Rang David Kung, MCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Senapati, Sub-Divisional Officers, DLOs, Security personnel commander of CRPF B/109 Bn, D/173 Bn and 16 F Company, Assam Rifles, Medical teams, and School representatives.
During the meeting, Senapati DC apprised the attendee of the activities to be carried out on the mock drill day and later allocated the task to concerned departments.
She stated that the exercises will evaluate and enhance the district's readiness in the event of hostile attack and en-sure civil defence protocols are well understood and implemented effectively.
She also appealed to the public to remain calm and extend full cooperation during the mock drill as the operations are purely simulative in nature for preparedness and public safety training.
The Civil Defence mock drill will be conducted on May 16, 2025, 10:30 am at Mini Secretariat Complex, Senapati as part of nationwide initiative to assess and strengthen disaster preparedness and response mechanisms.
As part of the Mock Drill, activities like air raid warning sirens, public address announcement via police vehicles, fire engine sirens and emergency response activation, blackout simulation, search and rescue operations, casualty evacuation from simulated damaged structures, temporary hospital set up for emergency medical response, evacuation of civilians to designated bunkers and Civil Defence training for civilians on safety measures during hostile attacks.
The mock drill will be a joint effort involving Police, Fire Services, Assam Rifles, CRPF, Health Department, Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL), NCC, NSS, NYK, Indian Red Cross Society and Educational Institutions.
