Bishnupur, May 10 2021:
Nambol AC MLA Nameirakpam Loken has appealed to the government and the departments concerned to ensure all Community Home Isolation Centres (CHICs) are equipped with ambulance, oxygen and necessary medical equipment.
He made the statement on the occasion of inaugurating a CHIC at SK Women's College, Nambol on Monday.
The MLA noted that the present government understands the importance of human life and as such, has halted all development projects to focus on saving precious lives against the onslaught of the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
It is time for the people to also understand that the government alone cannot curb the spread of the virus but need our support as well, he added.
So far, 39 positive cases have been detected in Nambol.
However, the patients must stay motivated as they can now stay at the centre and get well soon, he said.
In this regard, Loken urged the government and the authority concerned to ensure the centre is equipped with an ambulance, oxygen and other emergency related services.
The inaugural function was also attended by Nambol CHC MO i/c Dr L Kuber, SDC O Boinao, Nambol PS OC K Subhaschandra and members of different local clubs in the area.
