Bishnupur, July 08 2025:
The first foundation day of Apunba Kumbi Emasingidamak was organised by Kumbi Apunba Imasing at Lainingthou Santhong Apanba Khongbu Manga, Kumbi, on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba commended womenfolk of Manipur for their indomitable spirit and vital roles in pursuing and tackling sensitive issues confronting the state.
Along with reflecting on various challenges besieging the Meetei people, he expressed confidence that the community would ultimately emerge victorious in the ongoing conflict.
The parliamentarian further stated that as the struggle would be protracted and persist internally, coordination among the indigenous communities of the state is of utmost importance.
Civil society organisations, student bodies, women's groups and village volunteers must clearly define their roles and responsibilities in this fight.
Only then can peace be restored, he maintained.
Sanajaoba also urged all communities to rise above parochial outlook and embrace the idea of a united Manipur.
"Only when we adopt Manipur as a collective ideology can we truly achieve victory," he maintained.
The function was also attended by Kumbi MLA S Premchandra, IKAL president N Mema, Apunba Ema founders Wahengbam Luwangleima, AK Santibala and Mutum Dinamani, ANUL, Bishnupur president L Pramo, and National Awardee N Iboton as presidium members.
