Two Covid cases detected, caseload drops to 55

Imphal, July 06 2025:
The state recorded only two new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, marking a sharp decline from the 16 cases reported the previous day, according to the daily bulletin issued by the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) .
Imphal East and Imphal West accounted for one case each.
The state tested a total of 15 samples in the 24-hour period, out of which two returned positive, resulting in a daily positivity rate of 13.3 per cent.
Since June 16, the state has recorded 298 cases from 1,056 tests, putting the cumulative positivity rate at 28.2 per cent.
The number of active cases has now declined to 55, with 13 recoveries reported in the last 24 hours.
A total of 243 patients have recovered since the beginning of the new wave.
District-wise data shows that Imphal West continues to report the highest number of cases, with 196 positive results from 655 samples.
Imphal East follows with 69 cases out of 199 tests.
Other districts with reported cases include Bishnupur withl8, Thoubal with 10, and two each from Chandel and Tengnoupal.
Kakching has recorded one case.
Meanwhile, the nine remaining districts have not reported any Covid cases so far.
