ALTs trained ahead of Electoral Rolls pre-revision

In connection with the upcoming Pre-Revision of Electoral Rolls scheduled for January 1 next year as the qualifying date and impending verification of electors through House-to-House Survey (H2H), a three-day training programme for Assembly Level Trainers (ALTs) was held at the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur from June 30 to July 2, 2025 .
According to a press release issued by joint CEO Ramananda Nongmeikapam, two ALTs from each 60 assembly constituencies participated in the training, wherein they were briefed on the constitutional provisions, statutory provisions and appointment of BLOs.
A session on roles and responsibilities of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) along with BLO role plays, Forms filling exercises on Form6 (Addition), Form7 (Deletion) and Form8 (Shifting/ Corrections of Electors/Replacement of EPIC/PwD Marking), Assessment & Case studies was also held.
Demonstration of BLO and Voter Helpline Apps/ Voters Portal (https://voters.eci.gov.in/) was also conducted during the training to help the 120 ALTs train the 2955 BLOs of Manipur in these coming months to prepare them for their duties and responsibilities for the upcoming pre-revision and revision activities.
Meanwhile, in a new initiative by Election Commission of India, new standardised BLO ID Cards in transparent cases with lanyard imprinted with ECI logo were handed over to all the 2955 BLOs.
The BLOs would be wearing their ID card during election related duties such as House-to-House Survey, field verification visits, distribution of EPIC and Voter Information Slip (VIS) during special camps and polling, the release informed.
