Bomb exploded, UG cadres arrested

Imphal, June 30 2025:
Security forces arrested three cadres of different proscribed organisations, and safely neutralised an improvised explosive device in separate operations in the last two days, according to a police control room statement.
On Sunday, a combined team of security forces apprehended a cadre of the proscribed RPF/PLA from Lamdeng Awang Leikai under Lamsang police station, Imphal West district.
The arrestee has been identified as Yumnam Premkumar Singh alias Nongthang (31) of the same locality.
According to police, he was involved in extortion activities targeting elected representatives, including Pradhans and ward members, as well as private and government schools in Imphal West.
Security forces seized two mobile phones and a yellow Vespa scooter (MN01/AE-1745) from his possession.
In Bishnupur district, a bomb disposal team on Sunday safely exploded a 51 mm improvised ILLG bomb that was found planted at Tera Khongshangbi Maning Laithel under Moirang PS.
Splinters from the explosive device were recovered from the site and sent for further investigation.
In another operation on the same day, a cadre of the banned KCP (Noyon/MFL) faction was arrested from Nongpok Sanjenbam Khullen under Lamlai PS, Imphal East district.
The arrested cadre has been identified as Manoharmayum Kabichandra Sharma alias Rajo (28) of Lamlai Mayai Leikai, Imphal East.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, security forces apprehended a PREPAK-Pro cadre from Heirangoithong area near Fish Arcade Shop under Singjamei PS, Imphal West.
The arrested cadre was identified as Kangabam Raju Singh alias Purel (42) of Sagolband Kangabam Leikai.
One mobile handset, a wallet containing Rs 80 in cash, and a voter ID card were recovered from his possession.
In a separate development, police issued 41 challans to offenders of motor vehicle rules across the state on Sunday, collecting fines amounting to Rs 65,500 .
