Youth convention stresses unity, inclusive future

Imphal, June 29 2025:
A one-day youth convention themed "Unity Amidst Diversity: Reimagining Manipur's Collective Future" was organised by Manipur University Students' Union (2024-2025), at the Court Hall of the University on Saturday to foster dialogue on communal harmony, inclusive development, and youth-led transformation.
MU vice chancellor Prof Naorem Lokendra inaugurated the convention as chief guest while MLA Sheikh Noorul Hassan attended as special guests.
Dean of Students' WelfareProf Ch Ibohal presided over the event, while MUSU president N Suraj coordinated the programme.
In his keynote address, School of Human and Environmental Sciences former dean Prof W Nabakumar highlighted the youth's role in promoting peace, unity, and civic responsibility.
He called for continued efforts toward building a shared and inclusive future.
A technical session moderated by retired IAS officer K Radhakanta featured speakers including Dr K Indrakumar Singh of GP Women's College, Dr Arambam Noni of DMU, and retired IFS officer Dr Puni Mao.
The panel discussed themes such as inclusive growth, ethnic reconciliation, and creative conflict resolution.
The convention concluded with a strong message for youth to lead with empathy and collaboration in reimagining Manipur's collective future.
