Cong welcomes new members from Kakching, Hiyanglam ACs

Kakching, July 28 2025: Several individuals from Polling Station No 37/26 of the Kakching assembly constituency, including key members from various political parties, formally joined the Indian.

National Congress during a felicitation function organised by Block Congress Committee (BCC), Kakching, on Sunday.

Among those welcomed into the party were eight prominent figures who previously held significant roles in other political parties.

They joined the Congress along with 52 of their supporters, expressing their full confidence in the party and in Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) secretary Kshetrimayum Kennedy, who contested the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election from Kakching constituency as the Congress candidate.

The felicitation ceremony was held at the residence of Kshetrimayum Merna at Pallel Leimangai Chingjin and was attended by MPCC secretary Kennedy, BCC Kakching president Nongmaithem Ashok, secretary Leishangthem Brojen and advisors M Nimai, Naorem Akabal, N Raju and Y Ranjan as presidium members.

Meanwhile, over 100 individuals who were earlier with various other political parties also joined the Congress.

A felicitation function in their honour was held at the Langmeidong Mamang Leikai residence of PCC member Dr Huidrom Jiten, who also contested on Congress ticket in the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election from Hiyanglam assembly constituency.

The felicitation function organised by Election Campaign Committee of Dr Huidrom Jiten was attended by MPCC secretary Kennedy and District Congress Committee (DCC) Kakching president A Rahman Chesaba as chief guest and president respectively.

DCC Kakching secretary Kshetrimayum Rameshwar, Block Congress Committee, Kakching president Nongmaithem Ashok, secretary Leishangthem Brojen and Dr Huidrom Jiten Election Campaign Committee president Elangbam Ibocha were also present as guests of honour.
