MWU organises career guidance programme

A one-day legal awareness-cum-career guidance programme on the theme 'Healthy minds, healthy bodies: The power of awareness' was held Wednesday at the auditorium of Maram Union, Senapati.
The programme was organised by Maram Women's Union (MWU) in collaboration with District Legal Service Authority, Senapati and 16 Assam Rifles, Maram.
More than 200 students from Mount Carmel Academy, Saklim Christian English School and PP Christian English School attended the awareness programme which had three sessions, each with a distinct topic and speaker, as well as interaction hours.
As a resource person of the awareness programme, assistant professor Dr Joyce of the department of anatomy, JNIMS, delivered a comprehensive session on sex education focusing on crucial aspects such as sexual health, relationships and responsible behaviour.
She emphasised the importance of maintaining healthy relationships and advised students to prioritise their career opportunities.
Dr Joyce also shared valuable insights from her experiences in the hospital setting, highlighting real-world implications of her discussions.
By combining theoretical knowledge with practical examples, she provided students with a well-rounded understanding of the topic.
Public Prosecutor and government advocate Koshia Mao also delivered an informative session on the vital services provided by the District Legal Service Authority.
She highlighted the authority 's pivotal role in ensuring access to justice for all, with a focus on underserved areas.
The services she discussed included free legal services, providing legal aid to those who cannot afford it, ensuring equal access to justice.
A resource person from 16 Assam Rifles, Maram also delivered an inspiring session on career opportunities in the Indian Army and highlighted various roles and functions within the Army and emphasised the importance of service to the nation.
The AR resource person also spoke about the different entry schemes such as NDA, CDS and SSC and various branches and trades within the Army.
