'Women Ambassadors' from state meet Gujarat Governor

Thirty-four women from the state, who are part of the National Integration Tour (NIT) organised by Assam Rifles formation under Spear Corps, met Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat at Raj Bhavan, Gandhinagar on Monday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the Governor shared insights on Gujarat's economic and infrastructural transformation, highlighting the coastal state's achievements despite challenges.
He spoke about the remarkable growth since 2000, made possible through determination, collaboration and a strong work ethics.
Encouraging the visitors to draw inspiration from the state's progress, he emphasised that peace and development go hand in hand.

Before concluding the interaction, the Governor presented books on organic farming and spoke about its benefits.
The women expressed their gratitude by presenting him with a traditional stole and a painting from Imphal.
The ten-day tour, organised under Operation Sadbhavna by Assam Rifles, was flagged off on March 12 and over the past five days, the group has journeyed through Gujarat's rich cultural and historical landscape, gaining new perspectives and experiences.
Their visit to the Statue of Unity, the world's tallest statue, was a moment of pride and inspiration.
Standing before the towering statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the women reflected on the spirit of unity and leadership that played a pivotal role in shaping modem India, the PRO conveyed.
At Sabarmati Ashram, the echoes of Mahatma Gandhi's ideals of truth and non-violence resonated deeply with the participants.
Walking through the same corridors where the Father of the Nation once led the freedom struggle, the women gained a renewed appreciation for the power of resilience and determination - values that resonate strongly with the people of Manipur.
The tour also took them to the grand Akshardham Temple, a magnificent symbol of Gujarat's spiritual heritage.
The intricately carved temple, with its peaceful surroundings and mesmerising light and sound show, left the visitors awe-inspired, offering a moment of reflection and spiritual connection.
Beyond history and spirituality, the group witnessed Gujarat's rapid urban transformation.
Exploring Ahmedabad's Sabarmati and Narmada riverfronts, they saw first-hand how urban planning and development projects have revitalised public spaces.
The beautifully landscaped walkways, vibrant public areas and clean, flowing rivers showcased a model of progress that could serve as an inspiration for cities across India, including Manipur.
Before their return to Imphal on March 22, the group will have the unique opportunity to interact with senior Army officers, gaining insights into leadership and national security.
They will also explore notable sites in Ahmedabad and Kolkata, experiencing the vibrant cultures, history and lifestyles of these iconic cities, the PRO informed.
