Imphal, July 18 2025:
Campaign for Just & Fair Delimitation (JFD) convenor Jeetendra Ningomba has informed that a campaign would be launched on the importance of authentic and true census.
In a press meet held at CCSK's Wangkhei office on Friday, Jeetendra said that no census or.
delimitation exercise would be allowed in Manipur until normalcy is restored and illegal immigrants identified.
He then urged the Ministry of Home Affairs to exclude Manipur, a conflict-torn state, from the 2026 and 2027 census until the illegal immigrants are identified.

The correct census would be the one taken after normalcy is restored in Manipur, restoration of free movement between the communities, identification of illegal immigrants and implementation of NRC or a similar mechanism in the state.
Informing that the JFD has been formed to ensure the data is collected in a free and fair manner, Jeetendra also pointed out that the previous census had many errors.
During the campaign, everyone would be made aware of the importance of a correct census, he said, and sought support and cooperation from all the indigenous population of the state.
