Kakching MLA dedicates road to public

Kakching, July 17 2025:
Kakching MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar on Thursday inaugurated the newly repaired stretch of the Pallel Mantak Road, from Kha Manipur College gate to Kakching Wairi Kamala Pareng, which was constructed using Paver Block technology.
MLA Rameshwar told reporters that the repair and construction works of the road was approved under the leadership of the then chief minister N Biren Singh and works minister Govindas Konthoujam.
However, he noted that the adjoining section from Kamala Pareng to Khongnang Mari Phangba remains unattended, urged the government to sanction the required funds at the earliest to initiate repair works on the remaining stretch.
He further informed that the Paver Block work along Kakching Sumak Leikai Leirak Achouba Pareng has also been completed.
Regarding the Bailey Bridge constructed over the Shengmai (Sekmai) River, the MLA said that although the bridge has been completed, it has yet to be officially inaugurated.
He added that a formal request has already been submitted to the Chief Engineer of the Rural Engineering Department to expedite the inauguration process.
MLA Rameshwar also stated that he has undertaken the repair and construction of around 30 roads during his current tenure.
Asserting that all developmental works cannot be completed at once, he appealed to the public for patience and understanding, while also seeking their continued support for.
future initiatives.
He further informed that the road stretch from Kakching Khunyai Leikai to Tekcham via Irengband has been sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and the tender process completed.
However, construction work has yet to begin.
He said the Governor would be urged to ensure that the work starts at the earliest.
Additionally, the MLA said that the Governor would also be requested to approve the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Kakching Town Water Supply Project, float the tender and initiate work.
He assured that all necessary developmental activities in Kakching will be taken up within the current term.
