Chandel, August 14 2025: An award distribution ceremony was held to felicitate the departments under Chandel Aspirational District and Chakpikarong Aspirational Block that performed well during the Sampoornata Abhiyan 2024 campaign, conducted from July to September 2024, under the Aspirational District Programme in Chandel.

The function held at the mini secretariat of Chandel DC office complex on Wednesday was attended by Chandel DC Laishram Nandakumar, SP Dharmendra Kumar, ADC Md Firoz Khan, additional SPs (L/O) Chamna Anal and (Ops) L Sangkerjit, 8 th Manipur Rifles deputy commandant W Jadumani, Chandel SDO N Pritam and Khengjoy SDO Md Gayaj Udeen as dignitaries on the dais.

Speaking on the occasion, Aspirational District Programme, Chandel senior consultant Dearson Morung Tontang recounted that the awards were presented to the departments by NITI Aayog in recognition of their achievement in saturating five out of the six indicators under the Aspirational District category and three out of the six indicators under the Aspirational Block category.
