Sit-ins denounce arrest of AT leader

Thoubal, June 12 2025: Sit-in protests were staged in different parts of the district on Thursday against the arrests of Arambai Tenggol leader Asem Kanan and other members.

During the sit-ins, the participants held placards and chanted slogans such as 'We oppose arrest of AT members', 'Release AT leader A Kanan unconditionally' and 'Long live Manipur', among others.

A sit-in protest was jointly organised by Kekru Yairi Club, Yairipok (KYCY) and Kekru Mathak Leikai Meira Paibi at club's shed at Yairipok Kekru Yairi Keithel.

Similarly, meira paibi activists of Yairipok Bamol Leikai staged a sit-in protest at Bamol Leikai Laibung community hall.
