Governor to inaugurate renovated MG Avenue today

Imphal, May 10 2025: With the completion of renovation of MG Avenue, where a life-size statue of Mahatma Gandhi is erected, with modern architectural ideas, Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla will inaugurate the small complex on Sunday at 4.30 pm.

Over the past few months, the Bazar Development Committee has been carrying out renovation and development works to give a new look to the small complex in Thangal bazar.

All the works have been completed now, according to the committee.

Until recently, the small complex remained an eyesore with tall bushes and odd looks.

However, the small complex along with Mahatma Gandhi statue is now all set to draw public attention with modern architectural designs, iron structures, long chairs and floodlight - making it a welcoming spot for the people especially the elderly.

Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykisan will formally handover the complex to the people on Sunday afternoon.
