State sees Covid spike with 16 new cases

Imphal, July 05 2025: The state reported a sharp spike of Covid-19 with IDSP reporting 16 new cases in the last 24-hour period, marking the highest single-day surge for the current month.

The cumulative positivity rate for the ongoing wave in the state now stands at 28.4 per cent, with 296 confirmed cases out of 1,041 samples tested so far.

Bishnupur district led the latest surge with seven fresh infections , raising its cumulative tally to 18 .

Imphal West followed with six new cases, bringing its total to 195, while Imphal East added three new cases to reach 68.The state currently has 66 active cases, while 230 individuals have recovered so far.

A total of 39 samples were tested in the last 24-hour period and the daily positivity rate stood at 41.0 per cent, a steep rise from the previous day's 15.2 per cent.
