Imphal, June 30 2025:
Pudon Toys, a new store offering a wide range of educational toys and books for children and students, was inaugurated on Monday near Imphal Hospital and Research Centre along the RIMS Road, here.
The store was formally opened by CID (Security) SP Victoria Yengkhom, who also released a children's comic book titled 'Shamu and Sana', published by Pudon Studio.
Speaking at the event, Victoria expressed confidence that the comic book will serve as an important reference for parental guidance, particularly in raising awareness about different forms of sexual violence and ways to protect children.
Describing it as the first-of-its-kind in the state, she said that the book contains essential information to help children understand personal safety and the legal protections available under laws such as Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
"Published in both English and Manipuri, 'Shamu and Sana' is designed to be accessible and useful to children from all communities in the state," she said and encouraged parents to read the comic themselves and gift it to friends and families as a tool for education and awareness.
She also highlighted the diverse range of educational toys available at Pudon Toys, including items suitable for differently-abled children.
"These toys can support various developmental needs, while offering a healthy alternative to excessive screen time, which has become a growing concern for many families," the police officer noted.
Victoria extolled the initiative, stating that: "such efforts will go a long way in promoting child-friendly learning environments while addressing important issues that are often overlooked" .
