Thoubal, June 29 2025:
Stating that people of Thoubal district are facing serious hardships due to the absence of a full-fledged Assistant Survey and Settlement Officer, Khangabok Apunba Meira Paibi Lup has urged authorities concerned to take prompt action and appoint a full-time officer at the earliest possible.
Addressing media persons at Khangabok Keithel on Sunday, Lup joint secretary Thokchom Muhini highlighted inconveniences faced by Thoubal denizens due to absence of a dedicated Assistant Survey and Settlement Officer.
She stated that the officer previously assigned to Thoubal was transferred to the Lamphel DC office some time ago, leaving the district without proper administrative support for land-related matters.
In response to growing public inconvenience, the office was relocated back to the Thoubal DC Complex in March this year.
However, the situation remains unresolved, as the current Assistant Survey and Settlement Officer No.10 is also responsible for other districts and rarely remains stationed in Thoubal.
As a result, locals continue to face significant challenges when applying for documents related to land records and settlement issues.
Muhini urged the government to intervene promptly and appoint a full-time, dedicated Assistant Survey and Settlement Officer for Thoubal district to ensure smooth public service delivery and alleviate the ongoing difficulties faced by the people.
