Senapati truckers bid farewell to PK Singh

Senapati, July 22 2025: A farewell programme for outgoing chief secretary PK Singh, in the presence of Senapati DC Mamoni Doley, organised by Senapati District Truck Owners' Association, Senapati District Truck Driver's Union, village leaders and well-wishers was held at Martyrs' Park, Mao gate along NH-2 Imphal-Dimapur road on Tuesday afternoon.

The outgoing chief secretary now designated secretary of National Commission of Scheduled Tribes, Government of India, expressed his happiness by such gesture of different associations and the Mao community.

The former chief secretary was received at zero point of Mao-Kedima-Chakhabama-Kohima alternative road, a route he initiated immediate repairing through PWD since June.

In his short speech, the outgoing chief secretary mentioned the necessity of a permanent alternative route for the existing two lane NH-39, to bypass traffic congestion in Kohima town.

Further, he shared steps taken up by the government of Manipur for improvement of the present alternative road which is serving as the lifeline of Manipur.

He also informed that, Manipur government has been working for the last two months besides conveying to the ministry of roads and highways for funds to permanently create a'lifeline route.
