MLAs of NDA allies hold meet on PR

The MLAs of political parties in alliance with the NDA government held a meeting on Wednesday evening at Chumthang Shannapung, Langthabal Phuramakhong to discuss the withdrawal of the President's Rule and formation of a popular government in the state.
According to a source, since the state Assembly has been in suspended animation with the imposition of the President's Rule, the meeting was held as part of discussions to have the Rule withdrawn and form a popular government.
The meeting, held from 6pm to 10pm Wednesday, was attended by MLAs Th Biswajit, Yumnam Khemchand, Kh Joykisan, L Susindro (Yaima), H Dingo, Th Shyamkumar, S Kunjakeswor (Keba), Kh Ibomcha, Karam Shyam, S Kebi, S Premchand, S Rajen, T Robindro, Thangjam Arunkumar, Diganglung Gangmei, Usham Deben, L Rameshwor and Sheikh Noorul Hassan.
Although the Other MLAs could not attend the meeting due to prior commitments or being out of station, they communicated via phone and gave their support to the decision taken during the meeting.
During the meeting, discussions were held to form a popular government at the earliest, in addition to handing over the responsibility of holding a joint meeting of BJP, NPF, NPP and independent MLAs, who are part of the NDA alliance, to the speaker of the state assembly.
As such, the speaker would likely be calling for a meeting soon.
The upcoming meeting would also give unanimous support to the leader appointed by the centre.
It is highly believed that the state would welcome a popular.government by June first week, the source conveyed.
