Int'l Yoga Day celebrated in Manipur, Nagaland

Under the aegis and guidance of the Inspector General, Manipur & Nagaland Sector, CRPF, 86 Bn CRPF, Lamphelpat organised International Yoga Day in line with the global theme 'Yoga for one earth, one health' on Friday.
A press note issued by 86 Bn CRPF, Lamphelpat deputy commandant Kiyam Rajiv informed that the Yoga Day was led by commandant Saurabh Kumar Choudhary.
Commandant Saurabh Kumar Choudhary, along with all ranks of the battalion, enthusiastically participated in the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP).
The mass yoga session took place at the battalion headquarters, Lamphelpat, and at various company locations spread across three districts of Manipur.
As part of the celebrations, cleanliness drive was undertaken in and around the perimeters of the battalion HQ and its company areas.
Later, a tree plantation drive was organised to commemorate IDY-2025 and to support the national campaign "Ek Ped Maa ke Naam" .
The joint initiative witnessed active participation of the local community, including residents of Lamphel and Lamphelpat areas, the Lamphel Area Peace and Development Committee (LAP-DC), Keystone Infra Pvt.
Ltd., and the PWD Drainage Wing.
Similarly, 143 Bn CRPF organised 11th International Day of Yoga by conducting yoga awareness drive/activities from May 22 to June 20 at Unit headquarters and its coy locations to spread the benefits and significance of Yoga in modern lifestyle in order to enhance personal well being and improve a healthy society at large.
On Saturday, 11th International Day of Yoga, 2025 was organised at Cheirao Ching trail, Thangmeiband.
Officers/jawans/CRPF and civilians participated in the event.
Sainik School Imphal also celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga with great fervour on Saturday with active participation from grandparents of cadets.
Similarly, a release issued by Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) informed that Assam Rifles launched a state-wide wellness campaign from June 5 as part of the 11th International Day of Yoga.
Pre-Yoga Day sessions were conducted at Keithalmanbi, Sehlon, Sajik Tampak, Kom-lakhong, Moreh, Marjing Polo Ground, Shakpao, Ramva, Shirui Hill, Wanglee, Kwatha, Shaibol and Good Shepherd School, Kasom Khullen, among others.
Over 2620 participants, including troops, families, school children and civilians, took part in these sessions.
The major celebration of the 11th International Day of Yoga by Assam Rifles was held at Headquarters IGAR (South), Mantripukhri, where around 350 personnel including officers, junior commissioned officers, jawans and their families'enthusiastically participated in a structured morning yoga session.
Assam Rifles, commemorated the Day with widespread participation across the state of Manipur, under the global theme "Yoga for one Earth one health".
The celebrations spanned more than 35 locations across Imphal West, Imphal East, Ukhrul, Kamjong, Chandel, Tengnoupal, Kakching, Thoubal and Churachandpur districts.
Over 5000 individuals including Assam Rifles personnel, families, schoolchildren, local youth, villagers and ASHA workers took part in structured yoga sessions guided by trained instructors.
In addition to the various forward locations, key events were held at Mantripukhri and Keithelmanbi Garrisons in Imphal West, Somsai and Shangshak Garrisons in Ukhrul, Veng, Khuga, Singhat, Tuibong, Behiang, Kangkap, Z Khunou, Suangdai and H Khunou and various forward locations in Churachandpur, Sajik Tampak and Khengjoi in Chandel, Pallel in Kakching and T Minou and Chavangphai in Tengnoupal disrict.
Company Operating Bases at Moreh, Chassad, Ka-song, Sorde, Kamtong, Aishi, Kongkhan and others also hosted yoga sessions.
At the Integrated Check Post (ICP), Moreh Assam Rifles in collaboration with BSE personnel, ICP staff, Land Ports authority of India, School children and teachers practiced yoga led by a trained instructor.
Mass yoga events in villages in Chandel including Sehlon, Aibol Joupi, Phoilen, Samtal and Hengkot witnessed participation from over 280 civilians and 200 Assam Rifles personnel, showcasing strong civil-military bonds.
In Khuga, Behiang, Singhat and Z Khunou areas of Churachandpur, Assam Rifles organised camps that brought together hundreds of students and villagers to practise yoga by the scenic Khuga Dam and hilly terrain.
Special initiatives included a free eye check-up camp at Chandel on Saturday benefitting over 150 locals and an interactive youth engagement events for 68 students were also organised at multiple locations to drive home the importance of yoga in the daily life, it added.
The 11th International Yoga Day was commemorated on Saturday across 38 locations in Nagaland and Manipur under HQs Chief Engineer Project Sewak and its dependent formations under 15 BRTF and 25 BRTF.
More than 1,200 officers and personnel, alongside 131 children from Sewak Nursery School, ardently performed asanas, pranayama and kriyas, adhering to the Common Yoga Protocol, informed a release issued by PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh.
On the occasion of the 11th International Day of Yoga, Red Shield Division, of the Indian Army, organised yoga at multiple locations in Manipur and Nagaland, embracing the theme "Yoga for One Earth.
One Health".
A series of vibrant yoga events were organised across Manipur and Nagaland, drawing enthusiastic participation from over 1000 army personnel, families, students, and residents.
At Leimakhong Military Station, yoga instructors led over 300 army personnel and their families through asanas and pranayama.
A large-scale Yoga gathering at Thanga football ground in Bishnupur brought together college students, teachers, NCC cadets, soldiers and residents in a powerful display of unity.
In Imphal East's Yaingangpokpi, students from Jajoo's Boarding School, Green Sprout School and New Life Boarding School joined army personnel in embracing the transformative benefits of yoga.
Joint yoga sessions were also conducted in Litan, Maphou and Island villages, in collaboration with BSF personnel, drawing nearly 200 participants.
At Emmanuel School in Thamnapokpi, more than 100 students participated enthusiastically, promoting awareness of healthy living practices among the youth.
In Khurkhul, Imphal West district, locals practiced yoga alongside army troops.
Meanwhile, in the pristine natural settings of Zakhama and Chakabama in Nagaland, over 300 army personnel, families and local children took part in peaceful yoga sessions, said a release issued by PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh.
