HVs 'allowed' on Yairipok-Keithelmanbi Rd

Imphal, June 15 2025: The ban imposed on plying of heavy vehicles (HVs) on the Yairipok Azad Golai to Keithelmanbi road by Yairipok to Keithelmanbi Road Development Organisation due to deterioration of condition of the road stretch has been lifted under certain conditions.

The decision to ease the prohibition was taken in a meeting of the Road Development Organisation and Thoubal Turel Nung Leingoi Drivers & Owners' Association, and in consideration of the process to repair the said road.

As per a release by the Road Development Organisation convener Sanabam Bimol, the meeting agreed that HVs shall not ply from 7 am to 9 am; no overloading; HVs to donate Rs 200 per trip for controlling dust pollution; gap of 5 minutes to be maintained by the HVs in taking the route; and to press authority concerned to complete the repair work at the earliest, with strict adherence to quality norms.
