Imphal, August 13 2025:
Rongmei Naga Luh-Phwam Manipur (RNLPM) has demanded authorities concerned to take necessary action against the person(s) circulating false derogatory and defamatory post on social media regarding India's freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu.
In a release, RNLPM president Chingdinliu Panmei strongly condemned the derogatory post on social media by Kukiland India, which made slanderous remark about Rani Gaidinliu, calling her a prostitute, and used derogatory terms like Kacha Naga' and 'Landless Naga' for the Nagas of Manipur.
"We take grave offence to this statement and will not remain silent," it said, while demanding legal action be taken up by the state government against the culprit.
RNLPM reiterated that authorities concerned should investigate the matter and take legal measures against those responsible for the derogatory posts, uploaded every now and then by Kukis, ensuring that the law applies fairly and impartially.
"Rani Gaidinliu was a freedom fighter of India.
Her legacy is cherished not only by the Naga community but also by the nation.
The slanderous remarks against her are an insult to the Nagas community and Indian women at large, implying a derogatory characterisation of our womenfolk," it emphasised.
