SMKDC formed, road block announced

Imphal, July 13 2025: A joint meeting of Sora Western Sporting Youth Club (SWSYC), Thoibipat Youth Progressive Association (TYPA), and Naharol Yaipha Thourang Youth Club (NYTHC) held at the office of TYPA on July 10 resolve to constitute Sora Maning-Karanchi Development Committee (SMKDC) for development of areas falling within the ambit of the Committee.

As per a joint release, Md Najir Khan Aribam has been appointed as the Committee president, Md Ferosh Khan as vice-president, and Mak Risky Shah as general secretary, among other office bearers.

Pointing out that the Sora-Irengband-Kakching bypass road has been laying in poor condition for the past six-seven years despite repeated complaints to the authorities concerned, the release stated that the meeting further resolve to prohibit movement of heavy vehicles along the bypass road from July 15 onwards, till road repair work is initiated.
