Bishnupur district denizens, along with the internally displaced persons staying in relief camps in the district, stormed the office complex of Bishnupur DC on Friday, protesting the transfer of DC Lourembam Bikram.

"The Kukis attacked and burned down homes in Torbung Waikhurok, Waroiching and Napat Tangjeng.
Many residents, including myself, were forced to take shelter in relief camps," she said.
"DC Bikram truly understood our plight, stood with the victims, extended help, and ensured relief efforts were carried out effectively.
His transfer is not only unfortunate but also goes against the will of the people," she added.
Protesters voiced concerns that the appointment of a new DC at this juncture would disrupt administrative processes.
