May 3 public convention lined up

The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) is all set to organise a public convention under the theme "Manipur People's Convention on Two Years of Manipur Crisis" at Khuman Lampak on May 3, 2025 .
Speaking to the media in this regard at Lamphelpat today, COCOMI convenor Khuraijam Athouba appealed to the public to cease regular activities for the day (May 3), except for essential services, and participate in the convention.
He announced that the event will bring together leaders, scholars, intellectuals from diverse communities to discuss the crisis and pass a collective resolution aimed at restoring normalcy in the State.
He also said that internally displaced persons (IDPs) will take part in the convention.
All preparations are complete for the convention, which aims to discuss the pain and suffering endured by the people during the ongoing crisis, Athouba said.
Saying that the people of Manipur have suffered long enough, he added that the May 3 convention will provide a platform for the people to speak up and make constructive demands to the Government of India.
He stated that the resolutions passed during the event will be submitted to the Government of India for action and appealed to people from diverse communities to attend the convention in large number and share their perspectives to find a resolution to the crisis.
Continuing that the collective voice of the people will shape the future of Manipur, Athouba sought cooperation from the district administration, police, traffic personnel, organisations, local clubs, and Meira Paibis to ensure the event's success.
