Imphal, December 24 2008: Chief Electoral Officer Manipur has informed that campaign period to the ensuing by-election for Moirang Assembly Constituency will end at 4 pm of December 25. For free and fair election and strict compliance of model code of conduct, CEC also conveyed that no political functionaries/party workers of any political party, procession/campaign func-tionaries or group from outside the constituency and who are not voters of the constituency should leave the constituency immediately after conclusion of the campaign period.

Moreover, movement of vehicles inside the constituency would be moni- tored strictly by District Election Officer and Superintendent of Police (Bishnu- pur district).

Any lapse in this regard will be viewed seriously and appropriate necessary actions will be taken in consultation with Election Commission of India, said a press release.
