Imphal, July 22 2024: Separate operations launched by security forces resulted in recovery of several arms, ammunition and explosives today.

During a search operation today morning at L Phaijang village in Kangpokpi district, a combined team of Kangpokpi district police, 22 Assam Rifles and 30 Assam Rifles recovered one 7.62mm Sniper Rifle along with a magazine, and 8 live rounds, one .22 Rifle along with a magazine, one improvised projectile launcher, five projectiles, one hand grenade, ten live rounds of AK ammunition along with a magazine, two tube launchers, one telescopic sight, one LMG Bipod, one Baofeng radio set with Antenna and one radio set battery.

The recovered arms and ammunition have been handed over to the Leimakhong police station for investigation and further legal action.

Another joint operation carried out by State police, Army and CRPF at Phougakchao Ikhai resulted in the recovery of one 9 mm Carbine Machine Gun, one Single Barrel 12 Bore Rifle, ammunition and explosives.

The recovered items have been handed over to the police, said PIB Defence Wing.
