Imphal, June 21 2025: DNA testing has confirmed the identity of Nganthoi Kongbrailatpam, one of two cabin crew members from Manipur who lost their lives in the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad on June 12 .

"The identity of (L) Ms Nganthoi Sharma Kongbrailatpam has been officially confirmed, marking a solemn and emotional moment for all who knew and cherished her," said Imphal Airport on social media.

Two from Manipur - Nganthoi Kongbrailatpam and Lamnunthem Singson were among 274 people who died in the crash.

The mortal remains of Lamnunthem Singson had reached Kangpokpi on June 19 for last rites.

Meanwhile, preparations are underway at the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport, Imphal to receive the mortal remains of Nganthoi "with utmost dignity and respect.

Authorities are working in close coordination to ensure a smooth and honourable reception upon her arrival, said the Imphal Airport.

"Her travel itinerary is currently being finalized to guarantee the most suitable and efficient return journey tomorrow," said the airport.

Nganthoi Kongbrailatpam hailed from Thoubal Awang Leikai.

A late report said that the mortal remains of Nganthoi may reach Imphal at 1.20 pm tomorrow.
