Two sent to custody for assaulting cops

The two teens who were recently arrested for allegedly assaulting police officers during the recent bandh on June 9 at Nambol Thongkha have been sent to judicial custody till June 30 .
The two accused person s Ngangom Nganthoi (18) of Langpok Makha Leikai and Asem Amujao alias Jackson (18) of Nambol Makha were produced before the Court of Judicial Magistrate First Class Bishnupur after the completion of their police custody today.
In the Court today, the prosecutor submitted that on June 9, the Additional SP of Bishnupur and another police personnel were assaulted by a mob supporting Arambai Tenggol's bandh at Nambol Thongkha area and were grievously injured.
A case was then registered under relevant sections of the BNS and later, Ngangom Nganthoi and Asem Amujao were arrested on June 12 and June 13 respectively for their alleged involvement in the assault case.
If the arrested persons are released on bail, there is high chances that they will continue to get involved in such crime in future and may evade the arrest of other co-accused persons who are still at large, submitted the prosecutor, asking the Court for judicial custody remand of the two for smooth investigation of the case.
The Court, after hearing the submission of prosecution, remanded both of the accused to judicial custody till June 30 .
