Imphal, November 09 2025:
Six student organizations viz AMSU, MSF, DESAM, KSA, SUK, and AIMS have urged the authorities to ensure students of schools under BOSEM and the Education (S) Department receive their textbooks for the 2026 academic session on time.
Speaking to the media at Kwakeithel today, H Roshan, coordinator of the six student bodies, said that the transportation of paper for publishing the 2026 academic year books has been halted after some firms that failed to win the tender filed a case.
Noting that BOSEM publishes textbooks for schools under both BOSEM and the Education (S) Department, he said that publication typically began in October in previous years.
With paper transportation yet to commence, he expressed concern that students may not receive their textbooks on time next year.
Apart from publishing textbooks, the paper is also required as answer sheets for the 2026 HSLC examination, he said, adding that the delay could disrupt the HSLC examination as well if not addressed promptly.
He warned that the student bodies would launch an agitation if urgent steps are not taken to resolve the issue.
