CAF and PD officials inspect Manipur Gas

Imphal, September 08 2025: The CAF&PD Department conducted an inspection drive at MS Manipur Gas Agency at Sangakpam today amid the shortage of cooking gas in Manipur.

The inspection, which lasted around two hours, was carried out under the supervision of the CAF&PD Director and Secretary.

Speaking to the media, Officer on Special Duty (Petroleum Oil Lubricant) Haobam Bobby said that they found the LPG distributor was not distributing LPG in accordance with the quantities they received.

He said that MS Manipur Gas Agency received 27 loads of cooking gas in May, 11 in June, 16 in July, and 11 in August, but they distributed significantly less than the loads they received, raising concerns about supply management.

Saying that the LPG distributor has been warned not to repeat such irregularities, following directions from higher authorities, he added that strict action will be taken against them if the violations continue.

Shortage of cooking gas could have been averted had proper distribution been maintained, he said.

Bobby also said that all LPG home delivery service providers must display the name of their LPG distributor on their vehicles within a week to prevent black marketing, and those who fail to comply will face penalties.
