Imphal, July 04 2025:
The Rongmei Naga Youth Organisation, Ntayphay Luangrian (Foothills) (RNYOM-NTL) has categorically stated that construction of the so-called German Road (Tiger Road) will possibly de-stabilize the peaceful co-existence of communities in the region.
A press release issued by RNYOM-NTL said that construction of the German Road (Tiger Road) connecting Churachandpur and Kangpokpi via Joujangtek, Kotlen and Kangchup foothill by Kuki-Zos has raised a serious concern to the Rongmei Naga community as the road lays within the land of Naga villages.
This strategically laid road, with almost 7-8 Kms running well within the village jurisdiction of Ichum Kabui, Natok Kabui and Charoi Pandongba, has posed an imminent threat to the safety of the Naga community, particularly the Rongmei tribe.
"It is an undeniable fact that the construction of German Road by Kuki-Zos under the initiative of the Kuki militants is nothing but a strategic line drawn for their advantages while jeopardizing the security of the other communities", it said.
It said that the proposed installation of SoO camps for Kuki-Zo militant groups and the pre-planned settlement project of non-Manipuri speaking people, obviously immigrants from Myanmar, in the region is yet another matter of serious concern.
Such systematic arrangement made by the Kukis in collusion with Government security agencies might consciously or subconsciously develop a situation most regrettable, the RNYOM/NTL said.
All these recent developments in the region without the least respect for the other community while evidently positioning itself for best advantages in times of conflict is an act of war not justified in any civilized society, it said.
"The Rongmei Naga shall not remain a mute spectator to such humiliation and shall remain firm in our commitment for justice", it added.
