Imphal, September 26: Reacting sharply against the statement of Governor SS Sidhu that attempts are being to upgrade Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy to a deemed university, DESAM and Federation of Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Students today said that they will settle nothing less than affiliation of the Academy and the Government Dance College to MU.

Speaking to newsmen at the Open Air Theatre of Govt Dance College at the premises of the Art and Culture Department today, student leaders of the two bodies said that the Governor is being misguided by the authority of JNMDA.

President of the Cultural Students, A Tondang Luwang said that since the certificates issued by the JNMDA are not recognised by other universities, the career of many students of the Academy have been jeopardised.
