Schools, colleges shut; internet ban extended

Imphal, November 18 2024:
As internet ban continues, the state government has also declared the closure of all schools, colleges, and universities in valley districts until Tuesday, citing safety concerns amid the ongoing curfew.
The announcement came after consultations between the state's education and home departments on Monday.
In addition to closure of educational institutions, the government has also extended the suspension of internet services for two more days.
The internet shutdown, which affects mobile data services, VSATs, broadband (I1LL& FTTH), and VPN services, will remain in effect until Wednesday 5:15 pm .
The home department's order covers the districts of Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Kangpokpi, and Churachandpur.
