Fitting tributes paid to martyrs on Patriots Day

Imphal, August 13 2025: THOUBAL: The 134th Patriots' Day was observed by the district administration along with other organisations on Wednesday.

The observance held at the DC Thoubal counting hall was marked by paying of floral tributes to the photos of Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General led by deputy commissioner Hannah Kahmei, SP Shivanand Surve, 3rd IRB CO Sarangthem Hemanta, Thoubal DFO Dr Jeeceelee Leisangthem, ADM A Amarjit Sharma and other district level officers (DLOs) .

BISHNUPUR: The district administration observed Patriots' Day at Mini Secretariat conference hall, with DC Pooja Elangbam leading the DLOs in paying floral tributes to Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General.

Later, a pledge was taken by the attendees to eradicate drtig abuse from Bishnupur district and Manipur in connection with Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

KAKCHING: Kakching district administration observed Patriots' Day at the DC's Office Complex with DC Rohit Anand leading the attendees in paying of floral tributes to the portraits of Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General followed by SP Priyadarshini Laishram, ADC Pangambam Shantikumar Singh, Waikhong SDO U Chaitanya, SDO Kherdananda Potshangbam, officers & staffers of the DC Office and DLOs.

A two-minute silence was also observed as a mark of respect to all the brave hearts of the land, remembering their valour.

Meanwhile, the observance was jointly organised by Punjab National Bank Rural Self Employment Training Institute, Kakching and Wabagai Higher Secondary School at the school, which was attended by PNB Rural Self Employment Training Institute director Khaling Themson as chief guest, and School principal Mayengbam Bhorot as president, while social worker Elangbam Rajen, Citizens Association for Rural Development (CARD), Wabagai president Huidrom Kishwarjit and PNB Rural Self Employment Training Institute domain skill trainer Mayengbam Bimolchand were the guests of honour.

Similarly, Kha Manipur College, Kakching Internal Quality Assurance Cell observed the Day at its multipurpose hall with principal Dr Okram Rudrababu, vice-principal Moiranthem Durjoy and ex-principal Yengkhom Raju present as presidium members.

Liberty Theatre, Kakching observed Patriots' Day at Library and Information Centre auditorium, Phoushupat Leikai with Kakching MLA M Rameshwar as chief guest, Sa-hitya Akademi awardee Kshetri Bira as president and cultural activist Naorem Chandramani as guest of honour.

The event was marked by paying of floral tributes to the martyrs, patriotic poetry recitation competition, patriotic dance performance by Kids Cultural Academy, Kakching and a play 'Bir Tikendrajit' by Liberty Theatre, Kakching.

Student's Library Association, Kakching also observed Patriots' Day at Grace Cottage Academy, Kakching.

Arambai Tenggol-26 Unit, Kakching; Alliance for Development Alternative Manipur (ADAM), Kakching; and Sanjoy Football Coaching Centre, Kakching observed the Day by planting 150 tree saplings under the banner 'Athoubashinggi mingda upaal ama' at Angaan Ching Eco Park, Kakching.

Ideal Youths' Association (IYA), Kakching Wairi Ward No 1 observed the Day at Kakching Wairi Kongoi community hall with Kakching additional district magistrate P Shantikumar as chief guest and IYA president Moirangthem Brojen as president, while RIMS and JNIMS retired chief librarian Dr Naorem Giridhari and Kakching Municipal Council Ward No 1 caretaker councillor Mayanglambam Memcha were guests of honour.

The observance was also held by Khunggang Shemgat Shagagpa Lup (KSSL), Lamjao; Lamjao Apunba Meira Paibee Lup (LAMPL); Peace Keeping and Protection Committee (PKAPC), Lamjao at Lamjao Mayai Leikai Panthoibi Shan-glen; and by Lamjao Part-1 Development Association, Lamjao at Lamjao Mayai Leikai community hall.

On the other hand, Chandel district administration held the observance at DC Complex multipurpose hall which was marked by paying of floral tributes by DC Laishram Nandakumar Singh and gun salute by 8th Manipur Rifles personnel.

The programme was also attended by Chandel SP Dhramendra Kumar, 8th Manipur Rifles deputy commandant W Jadumani, ADC Md Firoz Khan, Additional SP (L/O) TS Chamna Anal, additional SP (Ops) L Sangkerjit, Chandel SDO N Pritam, Khengjoy SDO Md Gayajudeen, DLOs, Anganwadi worker, helpers and ASHA workers.

KAMJONG: Kamjong district administration observed Patriots' Day at the Deputy Commissioner Camp office at 2nd MR Complex, Imphal, which was attended by Kasom Khullen SDO Angom Rohini Kumar and Sahamphung SDO Subinson Sapam along with AC to DC Syed Amjad, SDCs and other DLOs .

SENAPATI: Senapati district administration organised Patriots' Day at DRDA conference hall, with DC Mamoni Doley leading the attendees in paying of tributes to Thangal General and Bir Tikendrajit Singh.

The observance was also attended by Senapati SP Shaikh Mohd Zaib Zakir, DFO Shanngam S, Autonomous District Council CEO Adahrii Maheo, SDOs, DLOs and other staffers.
