Training programme on FoSTaC held

With the participation of Food Business Operators (FBOs)/Food Handlers from Imphal East district, a one-day training programme on "Food Safety Training & Certification for Basic Catering and Basic Manufacturing" (FoSTaC) was conducted today at Hotel Classic Grande, Chingmeirong.
Organised by the Designated Officer (Food Safety Administration), Food Safety and Standard Enforcement Wing, Imphal East, the event witnessed the attendance of Ngangom Gopeshwar, Assistant General Manager, Classic Group of Hotels, Imphal; Dr L Indira, CMO, Imphal East and Dr L Kripriyalini, Designated Officer, Food Safety Administration, Imphal East.
Addressing the gathering, Dr L Kripriyalini said that the training programme was hosted under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.All FBOs from roadside food vendors to high-end hostels should have FoSTaC trainers and the relevant certification.
She stated that FBOs will be given vital information and certified at the FoSTaC training programme.
The FBOs will also be taught about the general requirements for hygiene outlined in Schedule 4 of the Food Safety and Standards Act.
