AMWJU extends aid to flood-hit members

All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) has extended relief assistance to its members affected by the flood.
A team of AMWJU led by president Asem Bhakta visited the homes of flood-affected members on Thursday and Friday to deliver food items and packaged drinking water.
The team covered flood-hit localities, including Wangkhei, Soibam Leikai, Khurai, Top Khongnangkhong, Kongpal, Naharup, and Irilbung.
While the floodwaters have started to recede, many localities in Wangkhei are still remain inundated.
Despite recession in level of rivers, the situation continues to pose major challenges for residents.
Many affected families are now beginning to grapple with postflood difficulties such as water contamination, damaged belongings, and disrupted daily life.
During the visit, Asem Bhakta encouraged the affected journalists to remain strong and commended them for continuing their professional responsibilities even as they themselves face hardships.
He acknowledged the resilience and dedication of union members who, despite being flood victims, continue to serve the public by reporting on the flood crisis.
