Noney, May 02 2025:
As part of its Project-Based Learning (PBL) programme and observance of International Labour Day, Tazei Public Higher Secondary School, Longmai-2, Noney district, organised a comprehensive riverbank cleanup drive on Thursday (May 1) along the Agah River in Longmai Bazar.
The initiative, spearheaded by the school's Science Department in collaboration with the Longmai Bazar Board, was undertaken to promote environmental awareness and hands-on learning among students.

Entitled "Agah River Rescue: Restore, Respect, Revive", the project aims to engage students in addressing real-world environmental challenges through active participation.
More than 60 students, under the guidance of teaching staff and with support from the Longmai Bazar Board, took part in the campaign, centring on collection and proper disposal of plastic waste, household refuse, and other non-bio-degradable materials found scattered along the riverbank.
The initiative highlights the value of experiential education, enabling students to extend their learning beyond the classroom while making a meaningful contribution to their community.
The campaign sought to restore the natural beauty of the Agah River, enhance water quality, and promote responsible waste management practices among the local population.
The school urged all citizens to refrain from disposing of waste near water bodies and to actively participate in protecting the environment.
Tazei Public Higher Secondary School also extended its sincere gratitude to the Longmai Bazar Board for the moral and financial support that contributed to the success of the campaign.
The drive was also supported and encouraged by the district administration and PHC Noney.
