ZUF holds 6th round of talks with centre

Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) along with Zeliangrong Statehood Working Committee (ZSWC) held the sixth round of talks with the Government of India on Tuesday in Delhi.
In a release, ZUF information & publicity secretary Louis Gangmei said both parties discussed the intricacies and complexities of the issues involved, as well ground-level and national positions for amicable and ultimate resolution.
A serious examination on the subject of inter-tribal communities with its relation and understanding within and without the territory of Zeliangrong region from the context of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland states was also assessed, it stated.
ZUF emphasised that the 'Zeliangrong Political' issues and demands are being duly addressed, with all their subject matter understood and set in the right direction for early settlement that is conducive and pragmatic to fulfil the aspiration of the Zeliangrong kindred people, inclusive of all neighbouring communities within Zeliangrong traditional jurisdiction.
"The Government of India is committed to ensuring that our legitimate demand is resolved without further delay," it said.
