Ukhrul pursues PM-DAJGUA initiatives

Ukhrul, May 27 2025:
As part of the initiatives to enhance services and infrastructure ip tribal areas across the country under the Pradhan Mantri Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (PM-DAJGUA), launched on October 2, 2024, various programmes including painting and drawing competitions and health camps were conducted recently at Model High School, Pashong relief camp and other locations such as Mollen Kamsei, Moulsohoi, Zalenbung, Mongko Chepu, and Litan Sareikhong.

This flagship initiative, launched by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, promotes sustainable livelihood activities tailored to local resources in the district, improve infrastructure such as roads, drinking water, sanitation and electricity.
It also aims to enhance access to quality education and health care besides strengthening social security and empowerment of tribal communities.
Under the scheme, efforts are on to ensure effective delivery of services by way of organising village-level camps to provide essential documents such as Aadhaar cards, Ration Cards, Ayushman Bharat cards (PM-JAY), Caste Certificates, Domicile Certificates, Kisan Credit Cards, PM-KISAN benefits, Jan Dhan Accounts, and various insurance schemes (PMJJBY/PMSBY) .
