SFs nab UG cadres, recover weapons

Imphal, July 08 2025:
In a series of operations, Indian Army and Assam Rifles formation under Spear Corps, in coordination with Manipur police, CRPF, BSF, and ITBP, launched intelligence-based operations in Jiribam, Kangpokpi, Churachandpur, Bishnupur, Tengnoupal, Imphal East and Imphal West, districts between June 30 to July 6, resulting in apprehension of four cadres of hill and valley-based groups and recovery of 62 weapons, 30 Improvised explosive devices (IEDs), grenades, ammunition and war like stores, informed separate statements issued by PROs of IGAR (S) and Defence.
According to the PROs, the operations covered Uchathol and Jairalpokpi villages in Jiribam district; Nepali Khutti in Kangpokpi; Maovom village in Churachandpur; Kumbi in Bishnupur; Chanbirok in Imphal West; and areas nearby Samukom, Lokchao and Aigejang villages in Tengnoupal district.
The security forces also dismantled several concealed bunkers and recovered IEDs, INSAS rifles, AK-56 rifles, SLRs, modified SLR, .303 rifles, single and double barrel rifles, pistols, long-range improvised mortars, grenades, two 12 bore shotguns.

The apprehended persons and recovered items have been handed over to the police stations concerned, according to the PROs .
