DC Pooja to serve as TB Nikshay Mitra

Deputy commissioner Pooja Elangbam, on Tuesday chaired the Tuberculosis (TB) Forum Meeting at the Mini Secretariat Complex conference hall, here.
The meeting was organised by the District TB Centre under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP).
District TB officer Dr Soraisam Brojen Singh delivered a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation, highlighting healthcare facilities provided by the District TB Centre, key achievements under NTEP, implementation of TB Preventive Therapy (TPT), and role of Nikshay Mitras in the district's TB elimination efforts.
Addressing the meeting, Pooja Elangbam emphasised the need for early and rapid testing if TB is suspected, to eliminate the disease at the earliest.
She urged all stakeholders to actively participate in the collective mission to create a TB-free society.
The deputy commissioner, along with additional deputy commissioner Toijam Opendro, agreed to serve as Nikshay Mitras, supporting TB patients in their recovery journey, as proposed by Dr Brojen Singh.
The DC also reviewed the functioning of the District TB Office and appealed to all to work together for a TB-free Bishnupur.
Dr Brojen Singh expressed his gratitude and called for close cooperation from all stakeholders.
He encouraged the members of the TB Forum to share innovative ideas and strategies to support TB elimination in the district.
The meeting was also attended by members of the TB Forum, who reaffirmed their commitment to the national goal of eliminating tuberculosis.
