MSPCL refutes allegations of financial misconduct

Imphal, May 24 2025:
Manipur State Power Company Limited (MSPCL) managing director Ng Subhachandra Singh and executive director (Finance & Accounts) M Rubina Devi have has categorically refuted allegations implicating the duo in a case of financial misconduct.
In a press release issued on Saturday, MSPCL managing director stated that the claims, published on local newspaper and television channel on May 23 and 24, are entirely unfounded.
Both officials assumed office only in August 2023 and had, in fact, initiated a comprehensive internal review to enhance financial oversight.
The investigation led to the discovery of a salary fund misappropriation in February 2024, linked to Yendrembam Stella, the then deputy manager (Finance & Accounts), whose misconduct dated back to her appointment in 2016 .
She was suspended on March 13 and the findings were submitted to the state government on March 20 .
The current managing director and executive director only oversaw disbursement of salaries from September to December, 2023, prior to the discovery of the financial discrepancies.
