Business Summit 2025 begins in Thoubal

Thoubal, July 18 2025:
A three-day 2nd TDCCI Manipur Business Summit 2025 jointly organised by Thoubal District Chamber of Commerce and Industries (TDCCI), North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd (NEDFi) and Siroi Financial Consultancy Private Limited commenced at Slopel'and Public School, Khongjom on Friday.
Held under the theme "Empowering Local Business" the inaugural function was attended by Commerce & Industries director Robita Yumnam, Thoubal DC Hannah Kamei, TDCCI president Dr N Sharatchandra, Thoubal SP Shivanand Surve, Commerce & Industries joint secretary Dr Polem Lenin and District Industries Centre, Thoubal general manager Soibam Nabakunja as presidium members.

Speaking at the inaugural function, director Robita confided that the department aims to launch development programme drives across various districts with the support of experts.
She stressed the importance of registering all businesses - regardless of size - under the Ministry of MSME, as registration is mandatory for availing government schemes.
The director also urged all entrepreneurs to cultivate the habit of repaying loans, if availed, so as to foster a healthy financial ecosystem.
Following the inaugural ceremony, the business summit moved into a series of technical sessions covering financial inclusion, government schemes and private sector leadership.
Split into three sessions moderated by Manipur Oxygen Plant CMD Khagemba Sanabam and ICM.
Guwahati/Imphal former director Dr Kh Somorendro, the summit had representatives of NEDFI Imphal, Siroi Financial Consultancy, Trade Commerce & Industries, BABINA Group, Shija Group, and UNNACO Group as panellists.
The Technical Session I was moderated by Khagemba Sanabam with NEDFi imphal branch manager Chourjit Thongam, Siroi Financial Consultancy founder director Th Sharjubala and Grant Thornton Bharat LLP consultant N Radhakishore as panellists.
The session focused on financing options for local businesses, consultancy support for start-ups and the implementation of central schemes in the state.
The technical session II had Commerce and Industries joint director Kh Dilip Singh, addressing key concerns raised by participants with the third moderated by Dr Somorendro featuring prominent industry leaders including BABINA Groups chairman and managing director Dr Thangjam Dhabali Singh, Shija Group chairman and managing director Dr Khundongbam Palin and UNNACO group chairman and managing director Ningombam Irabanta as panellists.
The session focused on the role of the private sector in boosting the local economy, challenges in healthcare and finance industries and strategies for sustainable business development in the region.
As part of the summit, the organisers presented tokens of appreciation to established entrepreneurs of the state.
