PREPAK mourns deaths of ULFA-I leaders

While strongly condemning the July 13 aerial attack, the proscribed People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) and its armed wing Red Army (RA) extended deep condolences over the deaths of ULFA-I leaders 'Lt General' Nayan Ahom and 'Brigadier' Ganesh Ahom in the attack.
According to a PREPAK statement issued by publicity officer Mangal Khuman, both Lt General Nayan Ahom and Brigadier Ganesh Ahom were killed when Indian security forces launched a coordinated attack on united base area of the revolutionary groups of WESEA region on July 13 beginning from 2 am and continued till 4 am.
The armed organisation claimed that Indian forces dropped around 150 bombs using high-end drones of Israeli and French origins and even used fighter jets in the attack along a forested stretch spanning from Langwa in Nagaland to Pangsu Pass in Arunachal Pradesh.
Some ULFA-I cadres were also injured in the attack, the PREPAK statement said, noting that the attack using high-tech weaponry clearly reveals India's attitude and consideration of the people of WESEA region as enemy.
While appealing to the people of WESEA region to be vigilant of India's hegemonic designs in the region, the PREPAK statement maintained that such deadly attacks by India cannot suppress people of the region or weaken their struggle for self-determination.
Mention may be made the news agencies had quoted military officials denying involvement of the Indian forces in the attacks.
