Traffic advisory issued for Patriots' Day observance

The state government has made all necessary arrangements for the observance of Patriots' Day 2025 on August 13.SP Traffic Control Wing also issued traffic regulations for the state function.
The day's observance will begin with the Governor offering floral tributes and laying wreaths at Heecham Yaicham Pat, Moirangkhom, and the Temple of Thangal General, Palace Compound, in the morning.
In the afternoon, the Governor will visit Kangla for a wreath-laying ceremony at Kangla Uttra, and then proceed to Shaheed Minar.
After paying tributes at Shaheed Minar, the Governor, accompanied by the chief secretary, will attend the main function at BT Park.
Directives have been issued to the departments and DCs concerned to make the necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme.
As part of the observance, a Prabhat Pheri will be organised at 4 am along the main roads and highways in Imphal.
The early morning procession aims to encourage widespread participation from representatives of all communities and to draw greater public attendance at the function.
It may be mentioned that Patriots' Day is commemorated every year across the state to honour the heroes of the Anglo-Manipuri War of 1891, who made the ultimate sacrifice in defending the sovereignty of the state.
The day stands as a solemn reminder of their unwavering courage and patriotism, and it renews the pledge to protect the state's unity, dignity, and heritage.
The state government has appealed to the public to participate in full attendance to ensure the successful observance of the day.
Meanwhile, SP Traffic Control Police Wing has announced traffic regulations and diversions to ensure public safety and smooth conduct of the functions.
For the morning function at Heecham Yacham Pat, Moirangkhom, vehicles coming from Singjamei side along NH-2 will be diverted towards Singjamei Bridge and Pishumthong.
Vehicles from Mayang Imphal side will not be permitted to enter Keishamthong.
Additionally, vehicles traveling from GPO towards Singjamei line will be diverted towards Sanjenthong and Nityaipat Chuthek.
For the evening function at Kangla and BT Park, there will be a restriction on the movement of vehicles entering the Western Gate of Kangla and BT Road during the function.
The order, however, stated that these regulations will be in effect except for the vehicles of the fire service, ambulance, and other emergency services.
