Senapati, July 05 2025:
While acknowledging the efforts of NEFTU, MDA, the Senapati District Truck Owners' Association, and other organisations in repairing the bypass road, MLA Losii Dikho has emphasised that the Public Works Department (PWD) under the state government played a crucial role in providing funds and necessary assistance for immediate repairs.
According to the MLA, as the local representative, he was actively involved in ensuring the uninterrupted supply of essential commodities to Manipur and facilitated the PWD in executing work on the 9 km stretch from Mao to Kidima in the Nagaland sector.
The MLA then urged NEFTU to correct its recent media statement, which misquoted the principal secretary's press release and unfairly portrayed the PWD.
Dikho related that after conducting two personal surveys of the bypass route in June, he met with chief secretary PK Singh, who intervened to initiate the repair works.
Dikho credited the continuous efforts of the chief secretary, principal secretary (works), and chief engineer (PWD) for promptly commencing technical and groundwork on the Manipur side.
The MLA appreciated the involvement of various stakeholders, including the Nagaland chief minister, the Manipur government, PWD officials, and different associations in assisting the repair works.
He also acknowledged the state government's efforts under the Governor's administration to restore the bypass road and noted that the Nagaland government, with the chief minister's approval, is still actively working on the project to ensure uninterrupted transportation of essential goods to Manipur.
